Meet our osteopathy team
Peter E Leach B.Sc. (Ost)
Peter enjoys treating patients from primary school to seniors, with a diverse range of chronic and acute injuries including: sports injuries, ergonomics and lifestyle injuries, postural problems, workplace and motor vehicle injuries and trauma.

Diagnosing the Problem
As a prizewinning graduate of the prestigious British School of Osteopathy in London (now UCO) in 1993, Peter has 28 years of experience in diagnosing individual pain and body movement issues.

Explaining to Patients
Peter understands that when patients have a health problem they want a practitioner who can give clear explanations with no jargon. They want someone who can decode the whole picture so they can understand what is going on and have a clear path ahead.

Peter has extensive experience and training in this area. Since establishing his Hobart clinic in 2003 Peter has volunteered his time to the professional association, Osteopathy Australia. In his various roles he has delivered a wide variety of seminars and lectures on Osteopathy to specialists, GP’s and other health professionals. He has also given numerous TV News and Radio interviews on what osteopaths do and written many articles on Osteopathy for the general public to help them understand how an osteopath may be able to help them.

Treating Patients
Peter has an extensive variety of hands-on treatment techniques, which means he can adapt his treatment approaches to each person’s specific needs.

In 1994 Peter was invited back to the BSO to join the teaching staff, specialising in Technique. This is where students are taught the hands-on skill sets they will use to examine and treat patients. In the next three years Peter was asked to take over the running of one of the courses within the department and tasked with reviewing and improving the technique department as a whole. Since moving to Australia in 1997 he has continued to teach in both seminars and mentoring graduates at his clinic.

Peter has also gained further qualifications in a number of other modalities including Pilates, Trigger Point Dry Needling and following his passion for golf becoming certified by the Titleist Performance Institute.

Using her skills and understanding from working on the front desk, through to payroll, accounting, marketing and human resources, and everything else that encompasses the practice management role; she has helped to build Macquarie Osteopaths into what it is today.
Wendy Chopping - Support Staff

Wendy is enjoying being a grandmother, especially as it involves regularly caring for her grandchildren. Working here at Macquarie Osteopaths involves welcoming clients and having conversations with a range of people from different backgrounds. Hearing from people about their opinions, interests and concerns is a rewarding and broadening experience. Wendy enjoys this interaction, which balances out the administrative elements of her work.
